Mining village in Mozambique
Using the Spirit of Africa “in-situ” cast concrete fast build system, the BSM Group completed a variety of buildings for a mineral sands mining project in a remote area of the Nampula Province in northern Mozambique.
The village scope was as follows:
- 160 accommodation units
- 2 Bathroom accommodation units.
- Catering kitchen for the total staff complement.
- Dining halls for 300 personnel.
- Recreation facilities.
- Clinic.
- Administration office block
- Technical office block
- laboratory
The total under-roof area of the project came to 6000 squared metres. From the first on-site delivery the project took a total of 8 months to complete.
Lake Victoria Feasibility study
Through De Mesquita, Twilley and Associates and Spirit of Africa, the BSM Group executed a bankable feasibility study for the development of roughly 300 acres of land on the shores of Lake Victoria into a mixed level housing village. The development will have full support facilities and services and has the potential for up to 1000 housing units and 1000 high-density units. The study has been submitted for financial support, having passed all approval stages.
